For instance, if you pull up a list of companies using the WhitePages or Manta you will likely end up with companies of all sizes and predominantly small business which make up 80% of businesses out there. There are plenty of companies out there who are happy to take your money in order to provide you with what they promise are seemingly inexhaustible numbers of companies and contacts for you to call. While I don't suggest that you never pay for leads, you should always look at your return on investment (ROI) after the fact and make sure your money was well spent. For each list, how many sales opportunities did you create and how many deals did you close?

And, if need be, as the call leader, you need to take note of key questions and comments, and repeat them as needed for the benefit of all participants. Without meaning to, central meeting participants can easily make remote "spokes" feel excluded and isolated. In the "face to face" atmosphere of the central group, it is likely that some socializing will take place. Verbal or visual joking may occur, and remote participants cannot be part of that on an equal footing. Be sensitive to this. As the leader, it would be unwise to limit socialization, even if such limitations were possible. But, you can use your leadership skills to draw remote participants into the positive atmosphere. Take the opportunity to explain a funny situation that may have occurred. Try to create a special bond with those who are remote. Take some meeting preparation time to gain information about the locations of remote participants (i.e. weather or business events). Use this information to draw remote participants into any social elements of the conference call. Your goal is to shift the focus to remote participants from time to time. This extra bit of attention can bring out more active and enthusiastic participation, and the result may very well be a more productive meeting.

Each lead generation technique usually has a tradeoff between quality and quantity. For example, a form on the company website that visitors can fill in to request a call back will generate high-quality leads – these visitors are very likely to buy since they're interested enough to want to hear more – but probably won't generate a lot of leads. On the other hand, a lead list that's based on a newsletter subscription list from another company may generate a lot of leads, but they won't be nearly as interested or qualified. If you are brand new and do not have a strong online presence, you will lose 95% of the network marketing leads that you do not call. The main reason I would suggest paying for leads is in order to obtain data that you would otherwise not be able to. 1. Call them back as quickly as possible. If you get their voicemail, leave a voicemail saying, “Hey, this is ____, you visited my website at ____ and I am just calling you to let you know there is a real person behind the website. If I can help you in any way, call me back at ______.” If you want to be more vague, and raise curiosity and probably the amount of calls you get back, you can leave this one, “Hey, this is ______, I was referred to you, you can reach me at _______”.
2. I get this question ALL THE TIME. “Ray, when I call these leads, what should I sell them? Should I sell them MLSP first or my primary company?” I suggest NOT having a already determined sales product when calling them. My suggestion is call them and LISTEN. Listen to what they are looking for and what they are also able to do. If someone is dead broke, then you may want to promote to them a low cost entry product at first to get them in the door. You may be talking to a lead that is very satisfied with their network marketing business but looking for ways to market it better, for those, I would suggest promoting My Lead System Pro.
