In case you are not familiar with it, LinkedIn is like a Facebook for business, a networking site that connects millions of professionals and companies. It is a great resource for looking up both companies and individuals as it provides very robust search options that let you narrow down by location, industry and other criteria. A great feature of LinkedIn that I like is that it shows you related companies and contacts to help you find other people working in a specific company or similar people or companies.
Sales Development reps (SDRs), also often called Inside Sales or Lead Qualification reps, are focused on one thing: reviewing, contacting, and qualifying marketing-generated leads and delivering them to Sales Account Executives. Simply put, SDR teams pass the baton from Marketing to Sales. Why do it this way? Because you want to make sure every single lead Marketing passes to your Sales team is as qualified as possible. Your SDRs should take the time to help each and every lead, offer them value, make a positive impression, create future demand, and become a trusted advisor. This step is critical in the lead generation process because you don’t want to treat your leads as blank faces to be simply questioned, qualified, and harvested.
Let’s begin by with the definition of a lead. What does a lead mean to your company? Many companies have different definitions depending on their sales cycle, but standard definition is a qualified potential buyer who shows some level of interest in purchasing your product or solution. For the leads that fill out a form, they often do so in exchange for some relevant content or a compelling offer.

Hi Ray I so appreciate what you have shared. Im in New Zealand and I find a lot of leads are basically out of reach with time zone. I call them they asleep & the ones that do answer they scream hehehe and i loose them. I call them at appropriate time they got no cash or their english is not the best. or they got a virus or … so many excuses I know…ill just keep calling them Ray…hehehe
Prospecting is another technique that often provides the link between inbound marketing and sales activities. Some may feel awkward about jumping in with their own comments for fear that they may interrupt someone else who has been waiting to speak. As the call leader, it is your job to directly request feedback, structuring the call so that all voices can be heard, polling participants as needed, and challenging others to stimulate further discussion. Without visual clues, the leader must be able to sense disinterest or intimidation, and continually press forward for increased participation.
As the leader of a conference call, it is your obligation to ensure that all participants are aware of the expected conference call etiquette. Have you ever been part of a conference call where effective communication is interrupted by "music on hold" or those "clicks" that can only be typing sounds. This can be frustrating to all parties, but with the creation of ground rules for call participation, you can achieve a more productive, courteous and timely meeting.
Your lead generation strategy needs to be as dynamic as the people you’re targeting. Trends change, behaviors shift, opinions morph … so should your lead gen marketing. Use A/B split testing to see what CTAs perform best, which landing pages convert better, and which copy captures your target audience. Experiment with layout changes, design, UX, content, and advertising channels until you find what works.

However, when a visitor does click the link the search engine charges that company a small fee, as opposed to the free 'general' listings. Companies that use pay-per-click advertising are advised to move cautiously at first, as an overly successful campaign can end up costing far more than expected!
The aspects of your lead gen campaign should mirror everything else on your website, on your blog, and within the product that you will eventually try to sell. If not, you’ll have a difficult time getting your lead to the next lifecycle stage.
