As you prepare to plan and lead your conference call, be mindful of the impact that physical location can have upon call dynamics. For example, if all participants in the call are remote, then as the leader, you are just another link in the call chain. In this configuration, all participants are on equal footing, and you can employ one set of call management techniques. However, project and logistical circumstances may dictate a different call configuration. As a call leader, you may find yourself in the challenging position of having some participants in the same location as you, while other participants are in various remote locations, tied in via phone. The leader is the cog in the meeting wheel. The remote participants are the spokes.

They take control of the buying process way before you enter the picture, leveraging all of that online information we talked about earlier. Still, if you’ve identified them as a lead, that means they are at least someone interested in what you’re selling. For example, you mentioned you really needed to do something about _______, if I could show you a way that would help with that, would you be open to it or are you not that serious about it right now? When they answer that they are serious, respond with, I have a video at ______, go through that to see if it is a fit or not and if it is or you have questions, call me back at _________. Note: You could also schedule how soon they plan on watching the video and follow back up with them if that is more your style.

Zillow might say that their leads are exclusive, but there is no way to guarantee this; as several agents appear on each listing not claimed by ZPA agents, a lead might contact more than one agent. Additionally, it’s impossible to tell where a lead came from—a Google search or directly through the Zillow website. For those who want one-sale leads or exclusive ZIP codes, Market Leader and BoldLeads are probably better choices.

2. I get this question ALL THE TIME. “Ray, when I call these leads, what should I sell them? Should I sell them MLSP first or my primary company?” I suggest NOT having a already determined sales product when calling them. My suggestion is call them and LISTEN. Listen to what they are looking for and what they are also able to do. If someone is dead broke, then you may want to promote to them a low cost entry product at first to get them in the door. You may be talking to a lead that is very satisfied with their network marketing business but looking for ways to market it better, for those, I would suggest promoting My Lead System Pro.
And the thing is, there are all sorts of unique cross-promotion opportunities available that marketers might miss. Let’s say you’re a running shoe company, for example. Attention scarcity is driving a shift from “rented attention” to “owned attention”. Historically, most marketing has been about renting attention other people have built. An example of this would be if you purchased an ad in a magazine or rented a tradeshow booth. But in the noisy, crowded market that today’s buyers live in, rented attention becomes less effective as attention becomes even scarcer. Of course, this is not an either-or proposition; you will ideally use a mix of rented vs. owned attention for your lead generation efforts to be affective.
Display ads are typically highly targeted to different demographic or behavioral actions.
